Historical Elevators
Lisbon is called the city of the seven hills. São Jorge, Santa Catarina, Graça, São Francisco, Chagas and Pena are the originals, but if we look carefully, we can find even more.
To save inhabitants' legs from this up and down, besides the trams, four elevators were built, each one in a different traditional quarter of the city. Perfectly integrated in the landscape, they were classified as National Monument in 2002.
