One week
Portugal is a compact country. It’s small in size, but from north to south, it’s landscape changes a lot, giving you the impression that you’re crossing several countries. Besides, it’s millenary history offers lot’s to see, from stone-aged monuments to Celtic places, roman ruins to Moorish walls and from medieval castles to fairy-tale palaces.
If you’re planning your whole vacation in Portugal, Lisbon Stories suggests a rough itinerary for one week.
1st day – Discover Lisbon on a full day tour.
2nd day – Enjoy Sintra, Cascais, Estoril and the westernmost point of Continental Europe.
3rd day– Go for a wine and cheese tasting in Arrabida mountain.
4th day – Go to Porto, passing by Coimbra, the Student’s city.
5th day – Explore Porto, Portugal’s 2nd biggest city, finishing the day with a wine tasting.
6th – Visit river Douro valley, the protected area where the famous Port wine is produced. (Optional, may be replaced with any other tour if you don’t like wine).
7th day – Explore Minho region, visiting beautiful and small cities like Barcelos, Guimarães or Viana do Castelo.
8th day – return to Lisbon just after lunch, stopping by Obidos, a medieval town for a cherry liqueur taste, before going home.



Please note: this itinerary is just a general suggestion. All tours may be customised, their order can be changed and some days can be cut or switched in order to include other places.
If you’re Catholic we can cut the wine and cheese tasting or the tour to Douro valley in order to visit Fatima sanctuary.
This itinerary can be done using only two hotels, one in Lisbon and one in Porto, so that you don’t have to pack and unpack everyday.
